DARP Configuration

USER INSTRUCTIONS

 The Configuration Main Screen

The first thing you must do once you have installed DARP is to set your client name and licence key. DARP is configured to ‘New Install’ when you have just installed it and it will not work until you enter your key.

 Entering your Licence Key

Click on ‘LICENCE’ to get this screen:

Now type in your client name and your new licence key in the spaces provided. Once they are in click on ‘SET’. If successful you will be told when the licence expires. You can now click ‘OK’  Setting Up File Location

By default the file locations will be set up within the folder in which you installed DARP. To alter these then click on ‘FILE LOCATIONS’ to get this screen:

You can now change the folders for the carts. Click ‘BROWSE’ to get a folder selection box or type in the folder name in the space provided.

If you set ‘CARTS 0001 - 0999’ then click the ‘C’ button you will copy this entry to the rest of the cart boxes.

Change the data path and also choose your favourite audio editor at the bottom.

Once all this is done click ‘OK’

 Setting Up the Players

To set up the players then click ‘PLAYERS AND RECORDER’ to get this screen:

From here you can choose the amount of players you want and also which player you want to use as the audio recorder.

NOTE: We recommend using the last player as the audio recorder to eliminate any problems when editing external audio.

‘INSTANT PLAY’ sets how you want the carts to play. Check this box if you want the selected cart on the audio wall to play as soon as you press the ‘SPACE BAR’ or you press the corresponding number of an instant cart. If you un-check this box then you will have to press ‘SPACE’ twice to get the cart to play.

‘ON EJECT PLAYER FADE’ will fade the player before ejecting if this box is checked. If not then the player will eject instantly.

You can set the audio recorder format as well from here. You can alter the settings manually or just click on ‘SELECT’ to get the following options:

Selecting one of these options will automatically set the audio format to what it should be.

NOTE: The higher the quality the more space will be taken up on your audio server when you record or insert custom voice links so only set this to what you need.

To exit these options without making any changes then click ‘CANCEL’.

When you have finished making your changes then click ‘OK’.  Setting the Audio Wall

Click on ‘AUDIOWALL’ to get this screen:

From here we can set up the jump buttons that appear at the top of the audio wall.

Give them a caption and also where the button is to jump.

‘SHOW LENGTHS’ tells the audio wall to show the length of a cart as opposed to the extro point.

Click ‘OK’ when done.

 Setting the Schedule

Click on ‘SCHEDULE’ to get this screen:

Set the range of carts that are to be used for custom voice links.

NOTE: We recommend reserving about 1000 carts for voice links, but this can vary depending on how many times you are going to automate in this way.

‘CUETIME’ is the amount of time that must remain on the current song before the next item on the schedule is cued up. Here we recommend around 2 to 3 minutes.

‘MUSIC ROTATION’ is for the administrator and lets it know how many hours to part the groups by. This may be better set higher to avoid too much repetition, say around 5 hours.

Click on ‘OK’ when you are done.

 Setting Hardware

Click on ‘HARDWARE’ to get this screen:

‘INITIAL FADE’ is explained on screen. It is used for custom voice links to drop the audio underneath the links so they are clearer and more audible.

‘NEWS’ tells DARP which comport has the RISE News Switcher attached to it.

‘REMOTE DEVICES’ and ‘CHECK FOR JOYSTICK’ tells DARP to check for the installed joystick device which must have any axis but 4-buttons. If it is checked but no device is installed then do not worry, as this will not affect the performance of DARP.

When you are done click ‘OK’.

 All Done

When all your settings are done and you want to exit the configuration utility then click ‘EXIT’ and you will be returned to Windows.
